The Only NYC Itinerary Worth Following Is My Dog's
If you ask Koa what makes a perfect NYC day, the answer is simple:
Run. Eat. Nap. Explore. Eat again. Sleep.
Honestly? He may be onto something.
6am: Central Park Run

Before most of New York even hits snooze, Koa is already living his best life in Central Park.
Five miles. Zero regrets. This is the highlight of his entire day — the second his paws hit the park, it's game on.
-
sniffing every tree like it contains classified information
-
spotting squirrels with Olympic-level focus
-
making new dog friends with absolutely no discrimination
-
confidently believing every single human is there specifically to say hi to him
The smells? Incredible. The social scene? Elite. The cardio? Necessary after what comes later.
By 7 AM, Koa has already had a more productive morning than most Manhattan residents.
8am: Breakfast Time
Post-run recovery is serious business.
Today's menu:
-
waffles
-
scrambled eggs
-
approximately 14 dramatic stares until mom shares enough bites
Koa believes breakfast should always feel slightly illegal.
He strategically positions himself in the kitchen like a furry life coach reminding everyone: "You deserve joy. And carbs."
8:30am: Power Nap While Mom Works
After an intense morning of athletic excellence, Koa clocks into his second full-time job:
Apartment supervisor.
While mom works, Koa rotates between:
-
the sunny spot by the window
-
the couch
-
the bed
2pm: Macy's Flower Show
Spring in NYC means one thing: the iconic Macy's Flower Show is back at Herald Square.
This year's Homegrown theme transformed the flagship into a massive indoor garden — thousands of flowers, blooming trees, immersive floral installations, and dreamy spring colors celebrating America's 250th anniversary. Displays stretch across multiple floors, from stained-glass garden panels to yarn-wrapped trees, white picket fences, and sculptural fabric birds fluttering overhead.

For Koa, this was less of a flower show and more of an emotional experience.
-
giant floral tunnels and new smells every three seconds
-
people stopping constantly to pet him
-
enough attention to fully convince him he was the main attraction
At one point, Koa sat dramatically in front of a wall of flowers while tourists took photos nearby like he was some kind of celebrity influencer dog.
5pm: Dinner at Crave Fishbar
Nothing says "successful Manhattan dog" quite like outdoor dining.
Mom orders oysters. Koa orders: a burger and fries.
Every few minutes, someone walking by says: "Can I pet your dog, he's so cute."
Meanwhile, he's carefully scanning the sidewalk for dropped fries and emotionally connecting with strangers eating seafood nearby.

Koa curls up in bed completely exhausted from:
- running five miles at dawn
- socializing at celebrity-influencer-dog levels
- modeling at a world-class flower show
- outdoor dining with oysters on the side
- carrying the full emotional weight of being this adorable all day
Because in New York City, even the dogs have packed schedules.
